Wisconsin is one of the three deepest records in the file — seven signed venues across six categories — and its busiest is a Wisconsin Dells water park at 480 visitors a day, 40% of net. An indoor pool hall is also the wettest air a floss sugar machine can be asked to work in. PinPoint Vending placed all seven.

Who places cotton candy machines in Wisconsin?

PinPoint Vending placed every Wisconsin venue on the record, and it did so inside a forty-day window between June 29 and August 7, 2026.

Six of the seven landed on 40% and none reached 50%, which is the flattest pricing of any state with this many placements. For a Wisconsin operator that is useful: there is no in-state precedent for a venue asking half.

A drinks bank is somebody else’s work. Nationwide Vending Locators handles Wisconsin snack and drink equipment and bills per location on installation — and a canned-drink machine is exempt from the Wisconsin food machine licence that a cotton candy machine needs.

The state’s busiest venue is also its wettest room

Floss sugar is hygroscopic: it absorbs airborne water, goes sticky and slumps. An indoor water park is the worst case in this record, because the humidity is not weather — it is the building working as intended.

EnvironmentWisconsin exampleWhy it matters

So Wisconsin’s best traffic figure comes with its hardest air, and unlike a coastal park the problem does not go away in February. What humidity does to a cotton candy machine gives the thresholds a Wisconsin pool hall runs against.

What makes it workable is that a water park complex is large. A machine placed in the dry zone — an arcade, a food court, a party room, a lobby away from the pool deck — gets the footfall without the pool-deck air, and that siting decision is worth more at the Dells than anywhere else in the state.

Six categories, and the quietest one still agreed 40%

Wisconsin’s spread of venue types is the broadest in the record alongside California’s and Florida’s, and the range inside it is wide: 55 visitors a day at Appleton against 480 at the Dells, with identical shares.

Green Bay, bowling alley110Below the bowling median
Rice Lake, escape room681 of 2 escape rooms
Appleton, trampoline park55Quietest of six counted

Appleton is the instructive row. It is the quietest trampoline park in the whole record, reporting a tenth of what the busiest ones do, and it still agreed the median 40% — while Green Bay, at twice Appleton’s traffic, took 30%. Category and negotiation explain Wisconsin’s pricing better than visitor counts do.

What does a Wisconsin placement leave the operator?

At the 40% six of the seven Wisconsin venues agreed, an $8 serving leaves the operator about $4.54.

ShareVenue takesOperator keeps per $8 servingWisconsin venues
30%$1.86$5.16Green Bay
40%$2.48$4.54The other six
50%$3.10$3.92None

Assumptions: $8 a serving; the venue’s percentage applied to net sales, which the agreements reach by deducting $1.80 first; $0.50 for sugar, stick and topping; card processing at 5.95%, or $0.48. The monthly placement fee, insurance, travel and the machine payment sit outside the table.

Wisconsin adds one line most states do not: the $125 annual licence plus $9 per machine, charged by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. On a route of several Wisconsin machines that works out small per unit, which is why the state is cheap to scale into and slightly expensive to test with one machine. What a cotton candy machine earns runs the annual version.

Where else would a machine sign in Wisconsin?

In the one big category Wisconsin lacks, and in its two largest metros. The state has no indoor playground on the record, and indoor playgrounds are the second most common category nationally at fifteen listings.

Milwaukee and Madison hold neither a signed venue nor a close substitute here — the record skews to Green Bay, Appleton, the Dells and smaller towns like Platteville, Rice Lake and Marion. A Milwaukee indoor playground would be both a new category and a new market for the state.

Lead with the Dells when you pitch a large venue and with Platteville or New Berlin for an ordinary one, because a Wisconsin venue is likelier than most to have heard of its in-state peers. How to pitch a cotton candy machine covers which Wisconsin comparison to lead with, and cotton candy placement state by state shows how Wisconsin compares with the other deep records.

Frequently asked questions

Who places cotton candy vending machines in Wisconsin?

PinPoint Vending, which has seven signed Wisconsin venues on the record across six categories — the joint deepest state record in the file, and all seven state a share.

What is the busiest Wisconsin venue?

A premium water park in Wisconsin Dells reporting 175,000 visitors a year, about 480 a day, at 40% of net. It is the second-busiest water park in the record.

Why is an indoor water park difficult for cotton candy?

Because the room is kept warm and humid deliberately, year round. Floss sugar takes up airborne moisture, turns tacky and collapses, so a pool hall is the hardest air in the record rather than merely a seasonal problem.

What did the quietest Wisconsin venue agree?

Forty per cent, the same as the busiest. An Appleton trampoline park reporting 55 visitors a day is the quietest trampoline park in the whole record and took the median share.

What does a Wisconsin machine cost to licence?

A state food machine licence at $125 a year plus $9 per machine. Snack and canned-drink machines are exempt; a cotton candy machine is not.

Next step

Site the machine away from the pool deck at a Wisconsin water park, because the Dells venue carries the state’s best traffic in air that is kept humid all year by design and product cleared rather than sold never appears in a traffic figure. Then price against 40%: six of Wisconsin’s seven venues agreed it and none agreed 50%.
